DEM APPLE ORCHARD BROCHURE AVAILABLE; INCLUDES PICK-YOUR-OWN SITES

PROVIDENCE - The RI Department of Environmental Management's Division of Agriculture has announced that the yearly guide to Rhode Island's 21 apple orchards is available. The guide lists the location of each apple orchard, where you can pick your own apples, which orchards make cider, and whether other fruits such as peaches and pears are available.

The brochure includes nutritional information and a number of facts about apples and apple cider. In addition, hours, days, and months of orchard operation are listed, along with telephone numbers.

Copies are available be calling the DEM Division of Agriculture 24-hour request line at 277-2781 ext. 4754, or by writing to the Division at 83 Park Street, Providence, RI 02903. The brochure is also available on the Division's electronic bulletin board at 277-6152.
