DEM TO HOLD PUBLIC HEARING JUNE 21ON FRESHWATER FISHING AND HUNTING RULES FOR 2000-2001 SEASON
PROVIDENCE - The Department of Environmental Management will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, June 21 on the proposed freshwater fishing and hunting season dates and bag limits for the 2000-2001 season. The hearing will be held at 7 p.m. in the Community Room of the Warwick Police Department at 99 Veterans' Memorial Drive in Warwick.
Proposed changes include a bonus archery white-tailed deer permit that will allow archery hunters to take three deer during the archery season on private land in Little Compton, Tiverton, North Kingstown, South Kingstown, Narragansett, Charlestown, Scituate and Cranston. The addition of a special wild turkey season for paraplegic hunters is also proposed.

The public can comment at the hearing, and written comment will be accepted at the Fish and Wildlife office in Wakefield until June 23.
