DEM TO HOLD APPRECIATION DAY FOR LITTER CORPS CLEAN TEAMS
PROVIDENCE - More than 200 members of OSCAR Youth Litter Corps Clean Teams from 24 municipalities and 11 nonprofit organizations will be honored for their summer of productivity at an Appreciation Day, Thursday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Goddard Memorial State Park in Warwick. Department of Environmental Management Director Jan Reitsma will welcome the teams at 10:30 a.m. and will present awards to the best teams. After that the youths will enjoy games and a picnic.

Youth Litter Corps workers are teen-agers and adults with disabilities who are hired to do roadside cleanups and conservation/beautification projects in their communities with funding from the Department of Environmental Management's OSCAR Program (Ocean State Cleanup and Recycling).
