DEM TO ANNOUNCE $825,000 IN WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT GRANTS TO MUNICIPALITIES STATEWIDE

PROVIDENCE - The Department of Environmental Management will award 33 municipalities a total of $825,000 in grants that will improve water quality throughout Rhode Island. The ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 24 in the Governor's State Room at the State House.

The grants, funded by DEM through the Rhode Island Clean Water Trust Fund, will be used by Rhode Island communities to develop storm water management plans.

DEM Director Jan Reitsma and Robert Mendoza, the Director of US Environmental Protection Agency's Rhode Island's Office of Ecosystem Protection will speak at the event.
