DEM & DOT TO PRESENT GREENWAYS AND TRAILS GRANTS

PROVIDENCE - Officials from the Department of Environmental Management and Department of Transportation will present $1.8 million in grants for greenways land acquisition and bikeway development projects, and $394,000 in recreational trail improvement and trail equipment grants to local officials and nonprofit organizations throughout the state on Thursday, October 23. The awards program will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the Norman Bird Sanctuary in Middletown.

*Directions from Providence: Take Rt. 195E to Rt. 24S to Exit 1. Bear right and follow Rt. 138S through Portsmouth (7 miles). Once you pass RI Nurseries take a left onto Rt. 138A at the second set of lights. Follow Rt. 138A to the first intersection and turn left onto Green End Ave. Follow 1.5 miles and turn right onto Third Beach Road. NBS is a mile down on the right.
