DEM ANNOUNCES TEMPORARY ROAD CLOSURES IN LINCOLN WOODS
Patrons Can Access Park via Twin Rivers Road

PROVIDENCE - The Department of Environmental Management announces that reconstruction of the Table Rock Road Bridge in Lincoln Woods State Park will begin next week. Effective Monday, October 27, Table Rock Road will be closed to all vehicular and pedestrian traffic for six months until the new bridge is in place. All patrons of the park must, therefore, access the park from Twin Rivers Road.

The closure coincides with the annual winter closing of Lincoln Woods State Park to vehicular traffic. The park will be gated through the winter on October 31. However, it will still be open for hiking, bicycling, and other recreational activities. The gated closure helps to control nuisances and to enforce the existing sunset to sunrise curfew. Patrons also enjoy a section of the park's roadway without the worry of vehicular traffic.

Pedestrians will still have daytime access and parking at the beachfront off Twin River Road, but will not be able to gain access at maintenance headquarters off Louisquisset Pike this winter because of the bridge reconstruction.
