DEM POSTPONES CONSTRUCTION OF COURTESY DOCK AT FORT ADAMS UNTIL NOVEMBER
Adjacent Boat Ramp Remains Open at This Time

PROVIDENCE - The Department of Environmental Management announces that construction of a 52-foot courtesy dock adjacent to the boat ramp at Fort Adams State Park in Newport, scheduled to begin this week, has been postponed until November. Therefore, the boat ramp, which will be closed during construction of the dock, remains open at this time.

DEM will issue an additional notice before the project commences, advising boaters to use the ramp at Kings Park, also in Newport, while construction, expected to take no more than a few weeks, is underway.
