DEM OFFERS E-MAIL NOTIFICATION OF UPCOMING MARINE FISHERIES MEETINGS; BROAD MAIL NOTIFICATION TO BE DISCONTINUED PROVIDENCE - The Department of Environmental Management announces that its Division of Fish and Wildlife has developed an automated email notification service, or listserve, for state marine fisheries meeting notices. Those who sign up for the email notification service will receive timely notices related to RI Marine Fisheries Council (RIMFC) meetings, RIMFC advisory panel meetings, Atlantic States Marine Fisheries Commission public hearing notices, and DEM marine fisheries public hearings. The intent is to both expedite and eventually replace the Division's process of large mailings for marine fisheries meetings. Those mailings will be phased out by February 1. To sign up for e-mail notifications, send an e-mail to Majordomo@listserve.ri.gov. In the body of the e-mail, type "subscribe rimarinefisheries". Then send a second e-mail to nancy.scarduzio@dem.ri.gov, requesting to be removed from the "snail" mail list. Those who do not have an email address and wish to remain on or be added to the Division "snail" mail list should contact Nancy Scarduzio by mail at DEM's Division of Fish and Wildlife, 3 Fort Wetherill Road, Jamestown, RI 02835. For further information, contact Scarduzio at 423-1927. Information on upcoming marine fisheries meetings remains available on DEM's website, www.dem.ri.gov, by clicking on "Fish and Wildlife" under "Offices and Divisions", then clicking on "Marine Fisheries". And, meeting notices are posted at DEM Fish and Wildlife offices at 3 Fort Wetherill Road in Jamestown and 4808 Tower Hill Road in Wakefield. -30- |
