PROVIDENCE - As a special thank you to our supporters, organizers of Rhode Island's first Quahog Week are hosting a "wrap" party on Sunday evening in Providence. Over the course of the week, several events were held and 16 restaurants offered special menu selections to bring attention to the year-round availability and versatility of the local quahog.

"I am full of pride at how successful our inaugural year of Quahog Week has been," said DEM Director Janet Coit. "People enthusiastically got involved to support the effort - a reminder of just how important local seafood is to our state and families. And there is nothing more uniquely Rhode Island than the quahog. We cannot thank our partners and Rhode Islanders enough for helping to build the buzz around our favorite local clam - at a time of year when it is not typically making headlines. Rhode Island is fortunate to have a vibrant, year-round quahog fishery steeped in tradition. And I'm thrilled people are taking the opportunity this week to celebrate that heritage and support our amazing local eateries."

WHERE: Tarragon Bar

WHEN: Sunday, March 27, 2016
