NEW LICENSES

Rhode Island "residents" need no license to engage in recreational shellfishing or recreational finfishing.

A "resident" is defined as "an individual who has had his or her actual place of residence and has lived in the State of Rhode Island for a continuous period of not less than six (6) months." RIGL § 20-1-3.
Every Vessel engaged in Commercial Fishing must be Declared
Vessel Declaration $25.00 for the first 25 ft.; plus $.50 per foot for each whole foot over 25 ft. Resident
$50.00 for the first 25 ft., plus $1.50 for each whole foot over 25 ft Non-Resident
$15.00 in combination with above decal Boat Plate - Resident only
