The license year begins March 1st and ends on the last day of February, annually.

Landowner and the members of their family when fishing from property on which they are actually domiciled. No license required

Purchase licenses online at https://rio.ri.gov/ or at participating City/Town Clerks and authorized licensed vendors. Veterans with a current 100% disability, or Individuals with 100% Permanent Disability (permanent) may obtain their license at DEM's Boating Registration and Licensing Office at 235 Promenade St., Providence, RI 02908, in person or by mail.
