Wetlands Permit Streamlining Task Force The Wetlands Program has undergone several program evaluations including a high-level executive branch committee, the KPMG program audit and a stakeholder review. DEM has modified the program as a result of this process. The Wetlands Task Force has been created to continue this self-evaluation process.DEM has developed a draft report that continues to accelerate this program evaluation. It is meant to stimulate discussion of specific administrative, policy and regulatory and statutory changes that are needed to streamline program operations, increase customer satisfaction and meet the mandates of the law. DEM has created a task force that has representation from the regulated, environmental consultant, legal and environmental communities; municipalities, affected state and federal agencies and the legislative branch. This task force will review the draft report and will develop other recommendations to improve program performance. The task force has also identified other issues that need to be resolved. The working groups noted below have been created to recommend solutions to identified issues. Information and recommendations developed by the Task Force and working groups will be used to generate a final report for program changes.
