Complaints regarding illegal disposal or mismanagement of solid waste should be reported to the Office of Compliance and Inspection at 401-222-1360.

Questions or complaints about permitted Solid Waste Management Facilities should be directed to the Office of Waste Management at 401-222-2797.

Solid Waste Haulers

DEM does not require companies to obtain a license to haul solid waste. Please visit the Rhode Island Resource Recovery Corporation's website for a list of solid waste transporters.

DEM does require transporters of hazardous, medical and septage waste to be licensed view the list on the Permitted transporter information page
