Job Opportunity: Program Director re: Farm Ranch Stress Assistance Network (FRSAN) RI

The Center for Mediation and Collaboration, in partnership with DEM's Divison of Agriculture, is hiring a full-time grant-funded position that will support the mental health and wellness of the farm, fishery, and forestry community in RI. This position is grant funded through August 31, 2022. The deadline to apply is Friday October 29, 2021.Learn more and apply


Spotted Lanternfly

DEM's Cooperative Agricultural Pest Survey (CAPS) Program has confirmed that Spotted Lanternfly, an invasive pest targeting plants and trees, has been detected for first time in Rhode Island.

Mosquito Monitoring Program

The Mosquito Abatement Coordination (MAC) Office conducts surveillance of mosquito-borne diseases as an early warning system. Adult mosquitoes are trapped statewide weekly from June through the fall and tested at the Rhode Island Department of Health Laboratory for the presence of Eastern Equine Encephalitis (EEE) and West Nile Virus (WNV).
