Boating Safety Challenge Exams
As of May 30, 2020 the DEM Division of Law Enforcement will again be offing Boating Safety Challenge Exams. Exams will be held on Saturdays from 9:00-4:00 at DEM Headquarters at 235 Promenade Street in Providence.
Exams will be held by appointment only. Boaters wishing to take a challenge exam should email email@example.com with their name, DOB, address, phone number and email address and write "Challenge Exam Request" in the subject line. Boaters will shortly receive and email in response with an appointed time and date for their test as well as the procedure to follow on the assigned day. In order to prepare for this exam to receive certification, there are two study methods available to you at no cost. You can contact DEM/Environmental Police at (401) 222-3070 for the home study packet or you can access an online study course at: https://www.boat-ed.com/rhodeisland/
Please bring a #2 pencil and identification. A parent must be present for a child under the driving age without identification. Answer sheets will be provided for you at the exam site.
TESTS WILL NOT BE GRADED ON SITE.
YOU CAN EXPECT TO RECEIVE YOUR RESULTS VIA MAIL IN ONE-WEEK.
